Beach Industrial style, a term coined by the owner of the Moore Residence was the platform of renovation for his riverfront home. Caron Kelly, of Caron Kelly Interiors, took that request to heart. Caron and associate Kit Haas worked with her client’s savvy style and good taste to bring new life to his old ranch home. The dark, dated woods which were predominant in the home were transformed to an airy, open feel bringing the eclectic beach cottage style alive.
This extensive project was originally slated to be completed in a two stage renovation process. After careful consideration by interior designers Caron and Kit, Gary Kelly of Kelly and Kelly Architects, and Greg Morabito of GM Construction, the contractor on the project, the plans were revised to a one stage process. Due to the extent of renovation needed, this was the best option for all.
“The constant flow of information was a critical thing throughout the process”, Morabito explained. We worked as a unit and the home owner had the confidence and comfort level with all of us to produce the best results. Caron concurs, “The owner had good ideas and was very receptive to our changes and suggestions”.
With the addition of the front and rear porches, the outdoor living space was expanded to fully experience the scenic views. Project architect Kelly commented, “I believe the home owner has the feel of his own private resort now”. The changes made both inside and out were dramatic and produced the desired result for the homeowner.
Each team member was asked to reveal their favorite celebratory indulgence after completing a project as this. Caron Kelly, project designer finds that a deep tissue massage does the trick, whereas Gary Kelly, the architect is satisfied with a relaxing moment and an ice cold beer. Greg Morabito, the project contractor described that his best indulgence after this project was sitting back and reviewing the before and after pictures of this renovation. He felt that was the ultimate reward. I think most would tend to agree.
